ITINERARY
Day 1
WELCOME TO SWITZERLAND
Your private airport assistant awaits you to hand over your travel documents and escort you to the train. A first class train will take you from Zurich airport to the world-famous, historical city of Lucerne. Because of its central location right on Lake Lucerne, which is surrounded by grand mountains like Mount Titlis at 3000 meters high or the impressive Mount Pilatus, Lucerne is considered to be the "Switzerland in Switzerland". You will find everything here: the lake, the mountains, the city.
Take the public bus to the Swiss Transportation musem, which is offering a range of engaging and exciting settings. It is presenting the development of transport and mobility on road, rail and water, as well as in the air and in space.

Day 2
TODAY AN EXCURSION TO THE MOUNT RIGI
“The Queen of the Mountains” is on your program. Travel by train from Lucerne to Arth-Goldau from where you ascend by the Arth-Rigi-Railway, which started operation in 1875. In 1907, the electrified service on the Goldau-Kulm mountain route was inaugurated. After 45 minutes you reach Rigi Kulm (1800m).
There is plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful scenery, to stroll along the footpaths and to breathe in the pure "Swiss air". Descend by another cogwheel train to Vitznau, the oldest mountain railway track in Europe, opened in May 1871. From Vitznau you take the boat back to Lucerne, enjoying a leisurely cruise on Lake Lucerne.

Day 3
MOUNT PILATUS
Today’s excursion takes you to the glorious Mount Pilatus. After a leisurely cruise on crystal-clear Lake Lucerne to Alpnachstad ascend by the steepest rack railway in the world to Pilatus Kulm (2130 m). On top you have time to walk up to the vista point and to admire the breath taking panorama over the Swiss Alps and Lucerne.
Enjoy a traditional Swiss picnic with tasty Swiss cheese and sausage. Then descend by aerial cable car to Fraekmuentegg, change to smaller cable cars and sweep over pine forests and mountain meadows to the village of Kriens. Return to Lucerne by private car.

Day 4
FIRST CLASS TRAIN TO REALP
Today you do not need to worry about your luggage – this will be transferred to your next hotel in Interlaken. Take the first class train in Lucerne towards Realp, where you board the historical Furka steam train. The Furka mountain route, which was built in 1925, leads past the impressive Rhone Glacier. Nostalgic steam locomotives and original carriages travel across cograil sections from Realp to Canton Uri.
The adventurous trip over the Furka pass ends in Gletsch, where the yellow post buses can be taken for the ongoing trip to Meiringen. From here you continue by first class train to Interlaken. The “Höhenmatte” is a pedestrian paradise of shops, hotels and sidewalk cafes in Interlaken. For a comfortable excursion through this quaint town, take a horse-carriage ride.

Day 5
BERNESE ALPS
Today’s excursion takes you to the very heart of the Bernese Alps - the mighty "Eiger" (3970m), "Mönch" (4099m) and "Jungfrau" (4158m), which form an imposing nucleus of the Alpine Region. Take the train from Interlaken into the Waterfall Valley of Lauterbrunnen, where you change and board the train to Jungfraujoch.
The traveling time from Interlaken to the Jungfraujoch is approx. 2 ½ hours each way. At Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, you can visit the Ice Palace and the Sphinx Terraces -reached by lift affording breath taking view of the Aletsch Glacier, the largest river of ice in Europe. Refreshment or a meal can be obtained at the Jungfraujoch Restaurant "Top of Europe".
After you will return to the mountaineering village of Grindelwald and back to Interlaken.

Day 6
CENTOVALLI TRAIN TO THE TOWN OF LOCARNO
From the Bernese Oberland your first class train will take you to the Italian town of Domodossola at the foot of the Simplon Pass. The panoramic Centovalli train leads you further to the delightful Swiss town of Locarno on the south side of the Alps.
The Centovalli train is the international connection between the main Gotthard and Simplon railway lines. The wonderful countryside of the Centovalli and Valle Vigezzo also makes this route an important tourist attraction. From Locarno you travel further by first class train to Lugano via Bellinzona. The total journey time will be around 5 hours. Benvenuti en Ticino!

Day 7
EXPLORE LUGANO'S OLD TOWN
Today you have time to relax and explore Lugano’s old town with its many piazzas, arcades, and cobble-stoned streets. This city, often called the “little Rio de Janeiro” of the Old Continent, offers all the amenities of a cosmopolitan city in a charming and relaxing atmosphere. Its subtropical vegetation and pleasant climate all year round make Lugano to one of the most popular Swiss holiday resorts.
You might want to take the funicular up to Mount San Salvatore, where you can enjoy an incredible view over the lakes and the border of Switzerland / Itay. For dinner plenty of great authentic Italian restaurants offer fresh, tasty pizzas & pastas.

Enjoy your last and nonstop train from Lugano back to Zurich airport. It’s time to say goodbye.
