Day 1    

MIAMI, FLORIDA

Your journey begins in south Florida. Meet fellow travelers, your expert trip leaders and dedicated guest services staff for a festive welcome dinner.

Four Seasons Hotel Miami sits in the heart of the Brickell neighborhood, where gleaming skyscrapers are interwoven with high-end boutiques and trendy restaurants. The city’s artistic influences come to life within the hotel’s walls, from the art deco flourishes in your guest room to the towering bronze sculptures of Adam and Eve by Colombian artist Fernando Botero in the main lobby.

Day 2 to 4   

CUSCO AND MACHU PICCHU, PERU

Peru offers diverse landscapes and a warm, lively culture
In historic Cusco, see how Inca and Spanish cultures intertwine. Travel aboard a private train to Machu Picchu, one of the world’s most astonishing archeological treasures. Visit the Inca ruins in Sacsayhuaman.

Travel to the mountaintop citadel of Machu Picchu by private, chartered train to examine the artfully cut stone altars, temples, fountains, staircases and terraced gardens that make this one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological treasures. Enjoy afternoon tea at the Sanctuary Lodge after our guided tour of the site.

Casa Concha Museum & Plaza de Armas
Visit the Casa Concha Museum, located in the restored former residence of a notable aristocrat during the early days of the Spanish conquest. Today it houses over 300 archaeological objects found by Hiram Bingham at Machu Picchu, recently returned to Peru from Yale University. Afterward, there is time to shop and explore the central plaza on your own.

Korikancha, Central Plaza & Cusco Cathedral
Explore the ruins of Korikancha, or Temple of the Sun. This site was formerly the main Inca temple of Cusco, with walls that were once covered in sheets of gold. Here the Convent of Santo Domingo now stands, using the original Inca stone walls. After exploring, we walk back to the Plaza de Armas with time to see the beautiful Cusco Cathedral. Afterward, enjoy time to shop in the central plaza on your own.

The Belmond Palacio Nazarenas is a former 16th-century Carmelite convent that has been painstakingly restored to become the city’s premier luxury hotel, with prime access to the city center. Past the ancient Inca walls lies the tranquil courtyard, an elegant oasis just steps away from the Plaza de Armas.

Day 4 to 6   

EASTER ISLAND, CHILE

Investigate the mystery of the moai on this remote Pacific island
Trace the history of a lost civilization with your archaeologist guides as you explore Rapa Nui National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where hundreds of moai were abandoned.

 

FEATURED EXPERIENCES
Ahu Tahai and Ahu Tongariki
Near the town of Hanga Roa we encounter Ahu Tahai, the site of three restored moai, the rock statues for which the island is famous. We also stop at the Rano Raraku quarry, where almost 400 giant statues remain in various stages of completion, giving us insights to how these mysterious icons may have been created. At Ahu Tongariki, we visit a monument featuring 15 large statues lined in a row.

Ahu Akivi
Visit Ahu Akivi, considered to be a particularly sacred site and home to seven moai, all of which are positioned to face sunset during the spring equinox and have their backs to the sunrise during autumn equinox. The astronomical precision is unique to this location on the island.

Orongo Birdman Excursion
Visit the Orongo ceremonial village, where the famous “birdman” competition was held. Winning this dangerous race was the fastest route to prestige and power in Rapa Nui society.

Hotel: Nayara HangaroaThis property was designed in homage to the village of Orongo, a ceremonial Rapa Nui location. Inspired by the architectural shapes of caves, rooms are smooth, cozy and organic, built with natural materials like cypress logs, clay and volcanic rock.

Immerse yourself in Australia’s unique flora and fauna. Lose a day crossing the international date line on the way to Australia.

 

The northeast coast of Australia is home to some of the world’s most unique natural wonders. You will enjoy staying in a forested riverside hideaway in the Daintree Rainforest as well as have the opportunity to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral reef system.

Angkor Wat is the world’s largest religious structure built from stone. Opt for an early morning visit to beat the mid-morning heat. Tour the complex and meet with Buddhist monks for a blessing. Otherwise, explore this magnificent temple complex after breakfast and discover why it is also known as “the city of temples.”

 

Bayon Temple and Ta Prohm
See the most popular sites at Angkor. Visit Ta Prohm, a prominent temple left in a state similar to the way it appeared when it was discovered. Move on to Bayon, a richly adorned temple that served as the center of Jayavarman VII’s capital. Finally, imagine the presence of a grand army as you take in the impressive Terrace of the Elephants.

Hotel: Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor
Just four miles from Angkor Wat, this hotel has been restored to its original colonial architecture and features steam baths, a 35-meter lap pool and shops full of local crafts. Rooms are appointed with high ceilings and large windows.

Day 13 to 15    

TAJ MAHAL, INDIA

Stand in awe of a monumental testament to enduring love. See perhaps the world’s most famous building, the Taj Mahal, the white marble mausoleum that took more than 22 years and 20,000 people to build. Learn about the construction of this UNESCO World Heritage site with your guide, as well as the history of the Mughal Empire.

Agra Fort
Emperor Akbar built the double-walled Agra Fort between 1565 and 1573 using red sandstone and marble. The enormous complex includes an elegant marble hall where the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his own son to put an end to his rule. Explore the lavishly decorated main hall and the small Gem Mosque as well as an exquisite mini palace.

Taj Mahal Visit
In Agra, visit one of history’s great masterpieces, the Taj Mahal. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned this astoundingly beautiful monument in the 17th century as a tribute to the memory of his beloved second wife. We explore this enchanting work of art, which incorporates and expands on Persian, Hindu and Islamic styles.

I'timad-ud-Daulah and Kachhpura Village
Visit the Tomb of I’timad-ud-Daulah, a charming mausoleum often referred to as the “Baby Taj.” This grand display of Mughal architecture was commissioned by Empress Nur Jahan for her beloved father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg, and predates the Taj Mahal by five years. Head to Kachhpura village to learn about local life and culture.

SERENGETI PLAIN, TANZANIA

The Serengeti is one of the world’s greatest wildlife destinations. Throughout the year, more than one million wildebeest, accompanied by gazelles and zebras, make a circuitous, perilous trek across the Serengeti Plain, seeking out fresh grazing and water. Along the way, they encounter lions, leopards, crocodiles and other carnivores always on the hunt, resulting in a primal spectacle unlike any other. Because this cycle is continuous, the Serengeti is always teeming with a dizzying array of wildlife.

Game Drive
Enjoy half-day or all-day game drives. Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, protects a wide variety of animals, large and small, including more than 30 species of large herbivores and nearly 500 species of birds. The acacia woodland and year-round water supply in this area create an ideal environment for the wide variety of wildlife that can be seen here—countless zebra, buffalo, lions, cheetahs, gazelle, wildebeest and other species make it their home.

MARRAKECH, MOROCCO

Experience a feast of the senses in the imperial city of Marrakech
Lying in the fertile Haouz plain at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, Marrakech has some of the most impressive examples of Islamic architecture in existence. Perhaps the highlight of Marrakech, Jemaa el-Fna square is the heart of one of the most vibrant and historic medinas in the world. This ancient walled quarter is filled with narrow, maze-like streets crowded with merchants, musicians and entertainers.

Exploring Marrakech
Enjoy a morning immersing into the variety of experiences that Marrakech offers, from wandering the artisan section of the souk to learning about the local baths and visiting the Koutoubia Mosque.

Atlas Mountains
Spend a day in the spectacular scenery of the Atlas Mountains, the highest mountain range in Northern Africa. Berber tribes live throughout this rugged land, where farming is central to day-to-day life. Take a moderate hike to a Berber village and share tea with the village chief. Enjoy a delicious traditional lunch prepared by the villagers before we return to Marrakech later this afternoon.

Majorelle Garden
The Majorelle Garden was established in the 1920s by the French painter Jacques Majorelle, with marble pools, raised pathways, banana trees, groves of bamboo, coconut palms and bougainvillea. After years of neglect, the garden was taken over and restored by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergé.
